I just loved this post because it speaks so truly about women, especially the lines:

"As a subject for

history, woman

always occurs

simultaneously

in several places.

(In woman,

personal history

blends together

with the history

of all women,

as well as national

and world history.)"

In such a case however, shouldn't "His .. story" be better termed "Her ... story"?
In such a case, yes it might be better if it was "Her-story," but I think the difference is really just semantics.
Yes, the fact that Woman occurs in several places simultaneously is both fascinating and invigorating for Our Grand Story.
"history" comes from a Greek word, "historia" meaning "story." It was never a compound word -- never "his story." Besides, "his" used to be a gender-neutral possessive pronoun: until a couple of centuries ago, "his story" meant either a female person's or a male person's story. Social history movements of the 70s and 80s focused on women, children and other forgotten aspects of life in the past, offering more liberating details than women's studies departments could with "her story"!
Cixous is wonderfully poetic so this post captures her so well. She writes well about theater and photography, too - what a sexy sunrise-lit photo you pair with her words.

I second what Iris said, and raise: that photo is driving me crazy!
Iris,

Sorry for taking so long to respond .... More important matters to look after. Thank-you for the info, So based on events of past few days ....

Ever Be Free

Vibrant at the beginning

Feminine is everywhere

Strangers passing in the night

Oh … We love this dual prayer

She arrives at the moment

With LOVE everywhere

Old friends meet in the night

Oh … We Love this dual prayer

We meet in the “now”

An “Ocean” exists in the center of the heart

Splinter the globe of the light from plane to plane

To rebuild the “ALL” most important part.

Mind within “All”

With center pushing stout

Please hold your mind clear

While we pass form …. inside / out

More lost than ever

Oh … What shall I “be

Indecision makes one wait

From decisions made to “Ever be free
