Such a joy filled painting. Lovely. Thanks.

Ha! Just by looking at the thumbnail I knew it was Blake - art history has not failed me yet!

I like this dream - it's graceful, soft - life is flowing from arm to arm, with no link broken.

Yet, there is something frightening, dark and lurking in the background - like all dreams.

oh dear you snuck one in on me. The is dark and lurking. yikes.

Don't you love Blake? He has a spiritual quality and such a light touch. His painting recalls for me the work of my boyfriend's late wife Ann Mikolowski. It really takes a master, I think, to achieve such a light yet dramatic touch.

Thank you for bringing some of his work out. I'm a huge fan of his for obvious reasons.
Now you have seen Blake's yin and yang--his lightness and his darkness--the joy-filled one reminds me of Matisse's The Dance, which you've probably seen--about 4 or 5 nudes dancing in a circle against a background of Prussian blue--so beautiful--ah!
My how vivid they are. No I am not schooled in the arts. This was very inspiring to look. More and More. Thank you, again.

i think i really would have gotten along with Blake even if he was a bit of a snob--he was still a painter AND a poet--what more could a girl ask for?
I'm glad you enjoyed the Blake watercolors. He's truly an inspiration isn't he?

You can see more of Blake's watercolors and drawings at the Tate Gallery's website here.
Omg. I am currently reading Stephen King's Duma Key. You have no idea what this all means to me. Have you read the book. You may not even like him. Blake's drawing or in this book. The shackles and souls are all there.
Very dramatic and very fluid...these paintings are simply beautiful!!!
I love bill blake, The cut worm forgives the plow, he is wonderful
