I loved the music in this movie, especially the cuts from Nouvelle Vague soundtracks...three summers ago, I spent two months in a 5th-story flat on the rue d'Estrapade, the same street where the main character of "The Dreamers" resides before the cute French guy swings by on a Vespa and rescues him. At FNAC I bought the soundtrack to "A bout de souffle" and swooned with the goofy, weepy strings.
