Open post to women everywhere...

Please love yourself enough to say no to "miracle age treatments" and botox. The fountain of youth is overrated and not worth chasing after if you are going to lose your features. Wrinkles are not the enemy..feeling bad about yourself is. There is no treatment, procedure, medical enhancement you can buy that will make you whole. That comes from finding peace inside & when you shine bright, you are just beautiful..

Sorry for the rant..I just cannot take seeing more pictures of female celebrities looking like plastic aliens...it's like watching a moving medical experiment and the use of these deadly treatments is just depressing.

Someone who was beautiful who should have left her face alone...

Cranky totally made me want to go see it, and I just found out it's opening at the local rep cinema this weekend, w00t! All yurt, all the time, baby!

I also want to check out Before the Rains, about a married British tea plantation owner who seduces his Indian house servant and then tries to cover it up.

And although reviews have not been great, I wouldn't mind checking out The Children of Huang-Shi, because it has the yummy Jonathan Rhys-Myers in it, as well as the amazing Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh. How bad can it be?

Third time is the charm.

I finally got curtains I like (at half price even)!! They are chocolate brown crinkle sheers. I hung them with some cream color linen tab tops I already had behind them and they look very nice together. I think some gold ribbon sewn along the top would make a nice trim. I have $6.76 left out of the $50. I budgeted, so decorative ribbon trim it is, or maybe some little bells, that'd be cute. I'd love that when the wind blows.

my future

i did it...

well nooooooo, i didn't do it, but i did take the next step necessary to get closer to doing it.

i registered for fall classes today!

WOOOOOOO!

sociology (finally!), social psychology (again but without professor snooze), life span psychology (again... but blessedly with the dynamic and absosmurfly fantabulous dr. garretson), and composition I, thanks to the wonderful and vivacious dr. t, who passed me because she knew i had no business in "dummy english", even though i totally fluffed off the end of my first semester when my streak of ill luck started.

it wasn't a totally pain-free process though. there initially was a $10 hold on my account because of the summer semester registration fee they held me to... even though i dropped my classes well before the semester started. the hold amount was increased to $35 because despite it not being my fault my purse got stolen with all my vital information and my owens debit card in it, i'm still responsible for the $25 replacement fee for said debit card. although it's completely unfair in my estimation, i went on ahead and covered it for now so that i could once again get my learn on come the start of fall semester. best believe, however, the administration will be receiving future communications from me concerning just how unjust holding me to the replacement fee is, but for now it's a case of having to do what i had to do.

so yeah, come august 18th i will once again stroll the halls of academia in pursuit of that coveted title of doctor and the degree that substantiates it. another full class load, but with my reassessment of life this past weekend i feel i'm up to the task. this, of course, puts a serious dent in my employment opportunities, but i'll deal with that, when i absolutely have to. right now my eyes are trained on my 2010 graduation date, when i will be at least five times more marketable than i am today. let's hope lucas county job and family services recognizes that this go 'round.
